Kombucha Gummies

Kombucha Gummies

This is such an easy recipe and such a great addition to your Childs lunch box.  Gelatine is basically the denatured form of collagen, it is created when collagen is cooked. In terms of the nutrition profile, they are very similar and provide more or less the same benefits, as they have the same amino acid and protein content. The main difference is that gelatine gels and collagen dissolves, plus there is a slight difference in bioavailability or how the body absorbs it. Gelatin is more bioavaible than whole form collagen, but collagen peptides or hydrolysed collagen is more bioavailable when compared with gelatine.

Consuming gelatine will provide skin, joint and gut health benefits. Gelatine is great for the lining of the gut and improves gut integrity.  It is rich in the amino acid glycine. Glycine can improve sleep quality and reduce blood sugar response post carbohydrate ingestion. The probiotics in the kombucha will also be great for the gut microbiome. Overall, this is a easy great little gut-health promoting snack that you can make at home.

Ingredients

330ml Kombucha of your choice - I love the remedy kombucha

Gelatine I used the gel pro gelatine you can grab here and use wellnesswithjl at checkout for 15% off.

Method

1. Bloom gelatine in 1/3 cup of kombucha by sprinkling gelatine on top

2. Place gelatine in a pot or thermomix and heat to 37 degrees. Add in bloomed gelatine and wait until completely dissolved. This should take around 3-4 minutes.  Please make sure you do not over heat, as you will destroy the probiotics in the kombucha. Once dissolved add to moulds or glass dish and place in freezer for 1hour to set.

3. Store in the fridge for two weeks. Great addition to your Childs lunch box or a gut and sleep promoting snack before bed ;-)
