Bali: From Party Vibes to Wellness + Learning Paradise

Bali: From Party Vibes to Wellness + Learning Paradise

Ten years ago, if you'd asked me about Bali, I would've told you all about beach clubs, late nights, and the party scene. Fast forward to now same island, completely different experience… and honestly? I loved it even more this time around.

I was in Bali for an MSK sonography conference with MSK Australia, and it was the perfect balance of learning, relaxing, and exploring. The conference ran from 9am to 1pm each day(Monday - Friday), which left the whole afternoon free to soak up everything Bali has to offer. And let me tell you, I made the most of it.

My Bali Routine Looked a Little Like This:

  • Morning: Ginger & lemongrass tea! Buffet breakfast, and MSK presentations (with my brain in full sponge mode)

  • Afternoon: Spa treatments, Lazing by the pool, market shopping,  facials, and adventures around the island via Gojek (Bali’s version of Uber but better)

  • Evening: Beach strolls, fresh dinners, and sleep (not hungover everynight, except post conference dinner after to many on tap cocktails! )

What I Loved:

  • The spa culture is next level. You can get an incredible massage for a fraction of the cost back home. I lost count of how many I had… and I regret nothing.

  • The café scene is unreal. Bali’s healthy cafes are aesthetic and delicious. If you’re a foodie or love wellness vibes, it’s like a dream.

  • Getting around is easy. I used Gojek everywhere. Affordable, safe, and reliable—definitely download it before you go. You can even order food, groceries, and massages through the app.

Travel Tips Before You Go:

  1. Do your visa online before you arrive. It saves so much time at the airport.

  2. Pay your Bali tourist levy online too—it’s quick and helps you breeze through customs.

  3. Get a E SIM card. I used Truely and highly recommend it. Everything was super fast, and I had zero issues.

  4. Download Gojek or Grab. These apps and the people that take you will become your best friends on the island.

I came back feeling so recharged. I genuinely can’t believe how different my Bali trip felt compared to a decade ago. Whether you're heading over for a conference like I did or just want a mix of chill and adventure, Bali has so much to offer beyond the party scene.

Would I go again? Absolutely—already planning my next trip, but next time I will be taking my family over.
